Why don't more people play this game?

I just don't understand it. I am in a combat zone and I have time to play this game with some regularity. Granted there isn't much blowing up here anymore, and they aren't attacking us, but I mean come on! I log onto Magnus today at about midnight CDT and there is almost no T1 RVR going on. This tells me one thing: nobody new is playing WAR anymore. Its going the way of the dodo, and fast. This never happened this quickly with WOW or any of its expansions. Why is it happening to WAR, which is a far superior MMO in my opinion? Doesn't make any sense. I love the depth of lore, the Tome of Knowledge is endless fun to read and add to, and the RVR experience, when there are players, is rewarding and fun. The mere fact that you can gain XP, renown (RVR levels), items and money from dead players is just awesome to me. Why doesn't this happen in more games? Its a happy medium between the "hardcore FFA Full Loot PVP" that Darkfall has going on, and the "Carebear PVP is just for fun but we'll add a separate points and leveling system for it" that WOW had. I have characters on both Order and Destruction, and I see this from both perspectives. I think class balance is actually very good right now, and that it takes an organized group to keep the realm locked down. Larger groups tend to win, of course, but I have seen larger groups on both sides lose to smaller, better organized teams that effectively focus fire. So why the lack of new players? I have no idea. You tell me.

Because MMOs just aren't in anymore (atleast in the same sense as few years back with WoW and whatnot)
You know, you're probably right. Figures, I get into the "next big thing" right as its going away. That sounds about par for the course for me and modern technology. I'm still hooked on MP3s, and we've got MP4 and other formats coming out (don't even get me started on iPods). Oh well, I'll keep playing until something better comes along. Its the social aspect that one-player games don't give me that I love. Especially while I'm over here with no social contact whatsoever, this is huge for me.
